Arbitrary imprisonments become a daily routine in Kabylia

KHR Organization expresses its deep concerns about the repeated and arbitrary arrests of Kabylian citizens by the Algerian security services.

According to information collected on the ground, a citizen from the Bouzguene (Tizi Wuzu) region, who recently returned from France, had his passport withdrawn upon arrival at Algiers-Houari Boumédiène International Airport. And, when he went back to the airport to get it back, he was instead detained. To date, the number of people detained exceeds 500, of whom 38 have been sentenced to death, while thousands are forced into exile.
