Madjid Mouloudj Arrested

Repressing and criminalizing freedom of speech is still the main priority of the Algerian military regime. Therefore, Several citizens in Kabylia have been arrested since 2021.

Today, it’s unfortunately the turn of Madjid Mouloudj, 72 years old, to be arrested for being active on Facebook – his shares and likes posts.

Mr. Mouloudj chose to stand up and resist against a cruel dictatorship, while numerous voices are smothered due to fear of imprisonment and harassment.

Freedom of speech is not an offensive, it is instead a fundamental human right which is enshrined in Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).

KHR organization is appalled by his arrest, and demands his immediate release without any judicial proceedings.
