Djamel Ikni–A staunch human rights advocate, calling to release detainees of opinion

On Sunday 26th, 2025, in Bejaia’s courthouse, the appeal trial of the defendant and human rights activist Djamel IKni was held regarding a 01-year prison sentence.

During the trial, the prosecutor tightened and aggravated the sentence, the verdict will be delivered on February 9th, 2025.

Djamel Ikni has already served an arbitrary sentence. This ongoing proceedings against him by the Algerian dictatorial regime is primarily a hideous strategy to wear him down and punish his peaceful activism.
