KHR organization firmly denounces the unjust and outrageous sentences handed down by the Algerian regime: five years of imprisonment for the renowned Algerian-French author Boualem Sansal–multiple award-winning–and seven years for the French sport journalist Christophe Gleizes.

These verdicts are not isolated cases—they are part of a broader campaign of repression aimed at crushing dissent and silencing voices of truth and justice. Over 350 innocent Kabyle citizens remain imprisoned today, including 38 who were condemned to death, targeted solely for their opinions, identity, or peaceful activism.

The Algerian military regime’s brutality knows no bounds, as it continues to criminalize free expression, persecute intellectuals, and repress entire communities.

We stand in unwavering solidarity with Boualem Sansal, Christophe Gleizes, the Kabyle prisoners of conscience, and all those who are courageously resisting authoritarianism.

The world must not look away.
