Cherif Mellal’s Life-threatening Desperate Action

KHR organization is extremely concerned and anguished about the critical situation that Cherif Mellal is going through in Koléa prison, given that his health has deteriorated significantly, after pursuing a hunger strike to denounce the judicial injustice he endured from the Algerian military dictatorship.

Today, his hunger strike has reached its 25th day, his life is now seriously threatened. To avoid the irreversible, we urge him again to immediately stop his action to preserve his life, insofar as the Algerian State is historically and deeply criminal, it lacks humanity, it will hear neither his protest nor suffering, it rather seeks his swift liquidation.

KHR is determined to defend Cherif Mellal, as well as all the Kabylian unjustly and wrongfully incarcerated in Algerian prisons by partnering with international human rights institutions.
