Cherif Mellal is on Hunger Strike

Cherif Mellal, the former president of JSK, a soccer team in Kabylia–Youth Sports of Kabylia, or la Jeunesse Sportive de Kabylie, is on his 4 days of hunger strike, after the department of economy and finance of sidi Mhamed’s court confirmed his sentence of 4 years in prison, on February 25th, 2025.

On February 11th, 2025, during a trial appeal, Cherif Mellal claimed his innocence.

Mr. Mellal was detained from January 19, 2023.
