Mus Akouche–a Kabylia self-determination activist–who served an arbitrary sentence, then was put under judicial review after his release from the Algerian prison, was again arrested on June 11th, 2025 by the Algerian police forces, and immediately conducted to the police department where he endured ‘severe torture’ and maltreatment.

Later, he was transferred to Algiers and detained in prison.

KHR organization is denouncing this new arrest, and calling for his immediate release.
