(Kabylia)–Last week, three citizens from the Aqvu region were arrested, tortured and held in custody. Currently, they’re remanded at the prison of Kolea in Algiers. The victims of this brutal repression are Sofiane Zatot and his wife, and Achour Ath Waali.

In addition, several citizens returning from France were arrested just at their arrival to Algiers, then remanded in custody. Among the individuals who were arrested, we mention the following names:

1. Louiza, a 73-year-old woman and Fadila, originally from Iaazugen, who were on their way to attend a relative's funeral.

2. Arezeki Hidouche, a 65-year-old man from Ath Yenni, who purposely flew to Kabylia to attend a family funeral.

3.Hamid Menana, from Michelet locality.

KHR organization denounces these arbitrary arrests and calls for their immediate and unconditional release.
