The contributor to "So Foot" and "Society" Christophe Gleizes had been sentenced in the first instance, on June 29, 2025 to 7 years in prison for glorifying terrorism.

The pardon granted to Boualem Sansal on November 12 had raised hope for the reporter's release.

On Wednesday, December 3, the Algerian Court of Appeal in Tizi Ouzou ruled against him, upholding the harsh 7-year prison sentence handed down to the 36-year-old French journalist, who has been incarcerated since June 29th, 2025.

KHR stands in solidarity with Christophe Gleizes and his family, and demands his immediate release.
